Suffering from a serious case of wanderlust.

Evening lovelies!

I wanted to share some photos from my recent holiday/city break. I went to Amsterdam for 3 nights; after coming back, going straight back to work and developing a horrible cold- it's fair to say I'm missing it, a lot!

I filmed a couple of small clips whilst there, nothing fancy- just some sights to soak in.

I had such a lovely time; I've never really travelled much, the first abroad holiday I went on was to New York 2 years ago, I returned there and aside from Dublin that's pretty much all I've seen outside of England. Perhaps I'm too accustomed to the New York style holiday, but for a city break this was so relaxing.
It's no secret that Amsterdam has it's 'dark' side (although, logistically, I understand why the city functions as it does) but I would still recommend this place to everyone. My friend and I certainly didn't go there as we're interested in legal drugs or prostitution, and we had an amazing time- so there really is more to it than what it's well known for!
The people are polite and helpful, the city is beautiful, the architecture is also beautiful and there's something about it that just seems way too relaxed to be taken seriously as a city. We spent most of our time accidentally finding places we had intended to go to (Dam Square, Red Light District, Plaza Shopping Centre, to name a few) but it was lovely to have a couple of days with no schedule, no worrying about time and literally just ending up wherever our legs walked us to.
In the oh-so intelligent words of me (said in a west country accent) we really were 'Ladies that does leisure.' How I miss that feeling!

It's not a place I'd necessarily rush back to as there's so much of Europe I really want to visit, but I'd never pass up an opportunity to return and I'm so glad I've been.

There was a cute little cafe near our hotel, we love a habit so visiting here became the morning must!

Not the most flattering of photos, but I was feeling particularly chirpy so it's okay!

I'd share more photos, but if you've ever been to Amsterdam, you'll know that there are so many photos of rivers, buildings and bikes you can show people before they start getting incredibly bored!

Until next time!

I knew I'd be swimming home. *Gradient Lips*

Hi Lovelies!!

Earlier on today I was doing my make up, and I got to the lipstick and I was so unsure as to what colour to wear. I remembered I was wearing a tie dye top and the idea of gradient lips suddenly became very appealing. I've seen bits and pieces about gradient lips dotted around the internet, but I wasn't sure as to how wearable it would actually be.
I have to say, I love it. So much so, I thought I should share it with you!

The inspiration (in my trusty harem pants as well!)

To achieve the look, I started off by getting rid of any dry skin on my lips by using the Bubblegum Lip Scrub from Lush (tastes super nice too!)
For this particular look, I used the following shades:
Outer shade- Corrupt by Illamasqua
Inner shade- Sounds like Noise by MAC

This was really so simple to achieve. With a small brush I lined my lips with Corrupt and used the same brush to blend it into the middle of my lips. I then used Sounds like Noise on the centre of my lips. Just like that, it blended together nicely. Just to perfect it a little bit I used the same brush to blend the two colours together. By doing so, the statement orange has become more of a coral colour making this look even more subtle and wearable.

Have any of you tried the gradient lip look? I'm officially a fan of it!

I find shelter in this way.

My week according to instagram...and I can confirm it basically means I've spent far too much money! oops >_>

1. Sometimes my cat, Molly, falls asleep like this and proceeds to snore. Her ability to be so cute makes me jealous. // 2. I had a nice little City & Colour delivery, all the way from Canada! // 3. I bought new leggings. £7 from Primark! // 4. I decided to be brave and venture out into the snow. // 5. Snow at 4am. // 6. I curled my hair for the first time in so long, this needed to be documented.

7. Socks and sunglasses courtesy of Topshop! // 8. New hand chain, also courtesy of Topshop. £2.50 in the sale! // 9. I went to London with my sister and decided to treat myself to a new ring. // 10. Whilst in London, the boots I was wearing proved to be very comfortable so I found these in the sale. Tie dye high tops...what's not to love! // 11. I became part of the motelrocks.com street team! // 12. I don't own many vinyls, but the ones I do have live on my wall.

I also wanted to share a song that I discovered a few nights ago. I suffer with Insomnia and at times it's very stubborn. I finally jumped on the Soundcloud band wagon and found this artist. I purchased his album and it's kept me company til the early hours of the morning.

I hope you've all had a good week!
I'm back at Uni tomorrow (for the first time since last...May?) eep! I have a few things in the pipeline for my blog, including a give away, an updated layout, and some more product reviews! So keep an eye out for them :)

I wasn't planning on posting about any of my Christmas presents until after Christmas day, however last night my friend and I had our own early Christmas, and I recently treated myself to a few new items of clothing!
The tank top was one of the gifts from my friend, and I'm wearing it right now! It's so comfortable and oversized, and I have a secret love for tie dye so this is perfect for me. The hat is also courtesy of my friend, I already have it in cream but as I no longer have purple hair, I can now wear a red hat which makes me very happy.
The jeggings and boots were my own little present for myself and I love them. It's so unusual for me to wear anything but skirts and dresses, however these jeggings are so comfortable and versatile; I now own them in this wine colour and now in black too. I wasn't too sure on the boots until I tried them and I just couldn't resist. This outfit as a whole is basically what I'm wearing today (swap the jeggings for the black pair) and I really like how it is different for me but nothing something I feel uncomfortable in.

Is there anyone else who's like me when it comes to jeans...a bit too scared to wear them? It sounds silly but I always feel more exposed and body conscious in jeans than I do if I'm just wearing a skirt or dress!

Now for a photo spam...

I love this necklace, it comes on a long chain and it reminds me of the steampunk style.  The cogs turn and everything :D
My friend's dad finds my slight irish background very amusing, so this was his doing!
This will probably be my last post before christmas, so for now I'm going to continue watching Harry Potter and I hope you all have a lovely day!
