Summer Lip Products

Hi Lovelies!!

If you're from the UK, you'll know that at long last the sun has come out to play! This means that not only has the summer wardrobe finally been pulled out, so to has the summer make up. I tend to tone down my whole look for summer, wanting as little on my face as possible; still, I can't resist a bit of lipstick. I thought I'd share the lip products I've been using the most; adding a bit of vibrancy to my other wise minimal make up.

As you can see, I'm loving all things vibrant right now! 

1) Maybelline ColourSensational

Shocking Coral

There's nothing coral about this, it's definitely more of a vibrant pink. Despite the misleading name, I love it! The lasting power on this is pretty good too!

2) Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Honey

This is the only one out of my collection that's a little more modest in colour, but sometimes it's nice to be a little more understated. 

3) L'Oreal Paris GlamShine Stain Splash

Princess

Another pink shade here, and when applied I think it has a slight tint of orange/coral. It's super easy to apply, and as it has quite a sheer finish it's a nice way to add a hint of colour without being too bold. 

4) Revlon Lip Butter

Tutti Frutti

This has been one of my go-to lipsticks for the past few weeks, I love the coral colour and the sheer finish, I also find it to be quite moisturising which is perfect for the summer!

5) MAC Sheen Supreme

New Temptation

I'm usually a fan of matte red lipsticks, but I think that for the hot summer days it's a bit too much. This is perfect as it means I can have my red lipstick fix but with a summer twist as it's a lovely sheer application. It's super moisturising too. This is new to my make up collection but I can already see us going into a long-term relationship together. 

I hope this was useful to some of you. For lipstick fans, it's nice still to be able to wear a lip colour but with a summer twist. Although thinking about it, I am pretty excited to get back to my winter shades too! 

I'm planning on doing a post about my hair soon, I'm currently in the process of going blonde (very nearly there!) and it's hit me that there are very few colours I haven't been. Please do let me know if you'd like a thorough post about the various colours, maintenance and how to achieve the colours- would this be of any use or interest to anybody?

You have lost your way *FOTD*

(This has just been in my head all day. I'm okay with that.) 

I'm an awful morning person, I won't try and pretend to be otherwise. This makes getting up for work in the mornings very interesting, so I'm all up for a simple and fresh look that could fool people into looking like I'd made real effort (that's a secret to most things in my life, fyi.)

I opted for metallic liquid eyeliner as this is a little more subtle looking than sold black, and only other real pop of colour is in the lipstick.

To be honest, I think I mostly liked my make up because of my new MAC foundation. I've finally found something pale enough for my skin, hoozahhh! Expect a review of that soon :)

Oops it looks like I published this before I'd finished it, I was in a mad rush to leave the house this morning- my bad! 

As you may be able to tell, I've changed my hair colour (yet again) to a red/ginger colour (it's lighter on the length of my hair, very 'multi-tonal,') and with that comes a new inspiration for make up. As I said in my last wishlist post, I'm really loving the coral look and I think this is because it just looks so fresh so I'm trying to bring that into my every day look, hopefully it's working! 

I've kept the eye make up quite simple, and just blended the two 'Colour Tattoo' products across my lid, starting with the lighter Eternal Gold in the corner and blending outwards into On and On Bronze, I've then applied a bit of liquid liner along the lash line and added a small wing. It's still enough to add a bit of edge to the overall look, as for the rest of my make up I've kept it simple and refreshing looking.

I've purchased a couple of new products today, I just had to feed the Coral love, so I'm excited to incorporate these in to my daily looks. (And to review them- expect a couple of reviews in the near future!)

From the perfect start, to the finish line. *FOTD*

Today's post is a bit of an experimental one! I thought it might be quite nice (possibly more so for me) to start a 'Face of the day' (FOTD) post. Now I can't say I'll be doing this every day once I'm back at Uni, but sometimes I find it's nice to document what make up looks I've been particularly happy with so I can go back to them if needs be! Hopefully, some of you might find this helpful too.

Today's look was based around a suggestion by Hannah (who blogs over at Daisies and DMs) so thank you for that!

You might have seen yesterday's review post on Illamasqua's Liquid Metal, and I wasn't completely sold on it! Ditto for the Too Faced Candlelight Glow. Hannah suggested (/requested haha) I try the Liquid Metal over the top of black eyeliner. So...hopefully I've done it correctly and this will give a good idea of what the outcome is like with the combination of the two. 

(Excuse the light glare!) 

As you can see this is a fairly simple look, nothing too fancy but I think quite nice for a night out or something! I'll include a list of products at the bottom of this post, but for the overall look I'm simply wearing foundation, highlighter, blush, red lipstick, and black eyeliner underneath Liquid Metal. 

Now for a close up!

I much prefer the look of the Liquid Metal over the top of black eyeliner (I simply used a kohl liner to cover my lids and used a brush to blend it outwards, and then a different brush to blend on the Liquid Metal.) However, my previous problem with the Liquid Metal of creasing is still there which is a shame! More experimenting to be done. 

And talking of experimenting, I think I'm getting to grips with my Too Faced Highlighter. I started off with my Tarte Amazonian blusher and brushed very softly up on to my cheekbones- paying particular attention to the very top. I used the highlighter above the blusher and again down the side of my nose. I think I quite like the way this looks. Unfortunately it doesn't show up quite so well on camera.
