FOTD for under £10! *Love Thy Make-up*

Hi lovelies!

As you may have previously seen, I set myself the challenge of purchasing a full face of make up for under £10 from Boots. (If you missed this, just click here.)
I have to say, I am MUCH happier with the results of this set of make up in comparison to the other set. I did learn a few little things to look for, last time I made the mistake of neglecting my eyebrows, so a sacrifice was made in order for me to have my brows this time round!

This set of make up came from Love Thy Make-up, so you don't even have to leave the house in order to grab these few products!
I was lucky in that I ordered these on free delivery, but I think delivery is only £2, so it's hardly breaking the bank!

Now, on to the products!

Technic Foundation (light) £1.25
Technic Whipped Blusher Mousse (peaches n cream) £2.99
Body Collection Eyebrow Pencil (dark)£1.49
Technic BIG Lashes - £1.49
Technic Lipstick (Hot Pink)£1.99

Postage: £0.00!

Grand Total: £9.21

I love the vibrancy of this lipstick! It does have quite a sheer effect to it, so it's not too 'in your face,' and it's perfect for adding a bit of colour into your day time wear. It doesn't dry your lips out either, which is always an added bonus.

As you can see, the lipstick has a nice bit of shimmer to it! I'm a sucker for shimmer...

This has a slight shimmer to it, so it saves the use of a highlighter! It's both easy to blend but also easy to build up, depending on the kind of look you want. It's not quite as intense as it looks in the pot.

I've mentioned many times before that I am incredibly fussy when it comes to foundation, I always struggle to find a nice matching colour and I expected this one to be too orange. However, I was pleasantly surprised in this way! The foundation seems to work more as a BB cream, meaning I could easily blend it out and reduce the darkness of it. This did mean that I didn't have quite as much coverage as I would have like (so I've since just added a bit of a concealer- but the following photo was before this!)
It does also have quite of a bit shine to it, but it faded after a few minutes of settling onto the skin.

As for the eyebrow pencil, I am very impressed with it! I'm usually a shadow kind of girl as I find I have more control over it, but with this I found it very easy to apply this on. It's the perfect colour match for my hair and I managed to apply it a lot quicker than it would usually take me. It also comes with a spoolie brush on the end, so I could blend it out a bit more to get a look that's a bit more natural!
Lastly, the mascara. This was just a nice and subtle one, it doesn't give you amazingly defined lashes but it does add a nice natural look to them. I didn't have any problems with clumping, and that's always a happy result!

The Verdict:

I think this goes to show that you really don't need high end products to achieve a nice, every day look. They may not be particularly long lasting (I haven't quite put that to the test) but at this price, you can kind of afford to re-apply the make up during the day.

There's a lot of nice products on this website, and I'd definitely look into purchasing a few more products now that I know that it's actually really quite good! I usually shy away from really cheap items like these, but I think this has taught me to be a bit more open-minded about this.
I'm a lot happier with the result of this challenge in comparison to my Boots challenge!

  4. This looks really good for under £10, I really like the look of the blusher. If I needed less coverage the foundation would be great too but unfortunately I do xxx
